BOLI is a dedicated assistance service for passengers with hidden or non-visible disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other conditions that may require additional support while travelling.
The service is designed to provide a more comfortable, accessible, and inclusive airport experience by offering assistance tailored to individual needs throughout the journey.
At Velana International Airport, we are committed to ensuring that all passengers can travel with confidence, dignity, and independence.
How to Get the Service
Passengers may access the BOLI Service by pre-registering before travel or by requesting assistance upon arrival at the airport.
Pre-registration is recommended to allow airport staff to arrange the appropriate support in advance. Passengers may also register at the Special Assistance Counters located in the Departures and Arrivals terminals.

Step 1 – Submit Your Application
Complete and submit the BOLI application form at least 24 hours before your scheduled travel date.
Step 2 – Collect Your BOLI Lanyard
Upon arrival at the airport, collect your BOLI Lanyard from the designated Special Assistance Counter.
Step 3 – Wear Your BOLI Lanyard
Wearing the lanyard helps airport staff recognize that you may require additional support and facilitates access to available assistance throughout your airport journey.
Step 4 – Future Travel
You may keep your BOLI Lanyard for future use. However, a new registration is required for each journey to ensure appropriate assistance is arranged.

The Calm Room is a dedicated quiet space designed for passengers who may benefit from a low-sensory environment before travelling.
Located in Terminal 1, the room provides a comfortable setting away from the busy terminal environment, allowing passengers to relax, reduce sensory stimulation, and prepare for their journey.
Access to the Calm Room is available through the BOLI Service or upon request, subject to availability.
The BOLI Identification Lanyard is a discreet way to indicate that a passenger may require additional understanding, patience, or assistance during their airport journey.
Available at Special Assistance Counters, the lanyard helps airport staff identify passengers who may benefit from enhanced support while maintaining privacy and dignity.
Wearing the lanyard is entirely voluntary.

Airport staff are trained to provide respectful and appropriate support to passengers with non-visible disabilities.
Depending on individual requirements, assistance may include:
• Guidance through airport procedures
• Additional time during security screening
• Assistance with terminal navigation
• Boarding support and coordination with airline staff
• Access to the Calm Room, where available
Our teams are committed to delivering assistance with care, professionalism, and respect at every stage of the journey.
Our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive airport environment where passengers with non-visible disabilities can travel comfortably and confidently.
Through the BOLI Service, Velana International Airport is committed to providing accessible support, enhancing the passenger experience, and ensuring every journey begins and ends with dignity and care.
