Velana International Airport opens 14 new passenger check-in counters
Velana International Airport, Maldives: 10th April 2019 – To enhance passenger experience, Velana International Airport (VIA) opens 14 new check-in counters on 10th April 2019.
To ease the passenger traffic at VIA, Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) had always made plans to accommodate to the growing number of passenger traffic. The new check-in counters are dedicated mostly to narrow-bodied aircrafts, which will have the capacity to accommodate to 3 more aircrafts at any given time.
Minister of Tourism Mr. Ali Waheed officially opened the 14 new check-in counters in special ceremony held at the International departure terminal. The ceremony was attended by the Acting Managing Director Mr. Moosa Solih, MACL board Directors, airport stakeholders and senior staff of MACL.
